To pop great popcorn, there's more than one way to achieve "popcorn perfection" with All Natural Fireworks Popcorn.

Stove Top Popcorn - Using Large Pan or Kettle
  • Place 1 to 3 tablespoons of oil (sunflower, grapeseed, canola, olive, corn, or other oil of choice) into a large kettle or pan. CAUTION: Do not use butter, as it will burn! The oils mentioned are listed in decreasing order of their tolerance for high heat. Grapeseed and Sunflower oils are high heat tolerant and a healthy choice of cooking oils.
  • Heat oil at medium setting* (between 460 and 470 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Test the heat by dropping in one or two kernels (when kernel pops or spins in the oil, it is ready).
  • Add 1/3 cup kernels or enough to cover the bottom of the pan.
  • Shake the pan/kettle to make sure the oil coats each kernel.
  • Set lid on slightly ajar to allow steam to escape. Allowing steam to escape prevents the popped corn from absorbing the moisture, retaining its peak crispness.
  • Listen for popping and, when it slows to 2-3 seconds apart, remove from heat.
  • Carefully pour popped corn into serving bowl and salt/season to taste.
* Oil burns at 500 degrees Fahrenheit. If your oil starts to smoke, it’s too hot.

Popcorn "Popping Machines"
  • Follow popcorn maker's instructions from manufacturer.
  • Typically this includes:
    • Preheat oil on high heat in the bottom of popcorn popper.
    • Add popcorn to popper and cover.
    • Lower heat slightly.
    • Agitate the popper until the popcorn ceases to pop.
    • Pour popcorn into serving bowl and salt/season to taste.

Microwave Popcorn
  • Use a microwave-safe popcorn popping bowl. Never use a microwave bowl that is not "clearly" specified as safe for making popcorn.
  • Follow popcorn microwaving instructions from manufacturer of microwave-safe bowl.
  • This typically includes:
    • Use a 600 Watt or more microwave.
    • Measure and add recommended amount of kernels to bowl.
    • Cover with lid (provided with microwave popcorn bowl).
    • Place in microwave for recommended amount of time or listen for popping and when it slows to 2-3 seconds apart, remove from microwave.
    • Pour popcorn into serving bowl and salt/season to taste.
CAUTION: Extreme heat may damage some microwave safe bowls. Only use bowls manufacturer-approved for popping corn.
